Jim and Ellen Bruinsma Family Scholarship

Jim and Ellen Bruinsma are strong believers in Christian education. Ellen’s career as a Christian school teacher, Jim and Ellen’s service on Christian school boards, and their experience sending their children to Christian schools have underscored their commitment to Christian education at all levels. They established this scholarship to enable a student to continue his/her Christian education at Calvin University.

Basic criteria:

• entering freshman year
• cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
• financial need is not required
• first preference will be given to a graduate of NorthPointe Christian High School (Grand Rapids, MI). If there are no candidates from NorthPointe Christian High School, then a graduate from any West Michigan Christian high school may be considered.

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher. Renewal is subject to funding availability.
