JoAnn Mellema Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Dirk Mellema of Walnut Creek, CA, in honor of his late wife, JoAnn Stiemsma Mellema, who died in 2007. Dirk Mellema is a Calvin alum, class of 1953, and met JoAnn while a student at Calvin. Together they established the Mellema Program in Western American Studies at Calvin.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• financial need is required

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
