Charles Gardner Memorial Scholarship

Mr. Charles D. Gardner (Class of 1952) majored in math and psychology during his studies at Calvin that led to a Masters in Educational Psychology at the University of Michigan, a decade teaching in the Ann Arbor Public Schools and ultimately subsequent lifelong entrepreneurial ventures. Mr. Gardner established this scholarship to be used by a Psychology major during their junior or senior year who demonstrated a commitment to expanding the delivery of counseling services to underserved communities or individuals. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated financial need.

Basic criteria:

  • entering sophomore, junior, or senior year
  • psychology major
  • financial need is considered
  • first preference is a sophomore

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
