Peter and Charlotte De Jong Scholarship in Sociology and Social Work

Peter and Charlotte De Jong, along with several of Peter’s sociology and social work colleagues, established this scholarship to support students interested in the study and healing of social relationships, and the promotion of social justice. Dr. Peter De Jong taught both sociology and social work courses for 39 years at Calvin and contributed to the establishment of its bachelor of social work program.

Basic criteria:

• entering senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher
• pursuing a major in sociology or social work
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is not renewable.
