Reverend and Mrs. John R. Gunn Memorial Scholarship

Reverend John R. Gunn was a Baptist minister as well as an author and newspaper columnist. He served churches in Georgia, New York, Tennessee and Indiana. After his death in 1956, his career continued by way of a newspaper column entitled “A Short Sermon for Today”, which developed into a radio ministry called Be Still and Know, and finally into an internet ministry called Day 1. James R. Gunn established this scholarship to honor his grandfather and his legacy of service in ministry by offering this scholarship for Calvin students pursuing a career in ministry.
