Nelson Sterken Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is established to honor the memory of Nelson Sterken. While living on his family’s farm, Nelson worked in a machine shop until arthritis forced him into early retirement. He was a strong Christian and a member of North Street CRC in Zeeland, MI, all his life. His only sister was a nurse, and therefore this scholarship will be offered to female nursing students at Calvin University.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• female nursing major
• financial need is considered

Renewal criteria: This scholarship is automatically renewable if the recipient is making satisfactory academic progress (senior year only). Renewal is subject to funding availability.
