William E. and Connie L. Van Eerden Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established by William E. Van Eerden, M.D., as a memorial to the life of Connie L.Van Eerden, his wife of 46 years. She taught mathematics at Chicago Christian High School, Millbrook Christian School, and in the Student Academic Services program at Calvin, and she worked several years in the Calvin Admissions office. Her life is a testimony to her calling, her gifts and commitment to Christian teaching and learning.

Basic criteria:

• entering junior or senior year
• cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher
• pursuing a mathematics major
• financial need is not required
• first preference is for a mathematics major who demonstrates a passion for teaching in a Christian school or college. And additional preference is for a student with an interest in music.

Renewal criteria: Students who wish to be considered for renewal must file a new application each year and will be given equal consideration with other candidates.
