Willis and Gertrude DeBoer Family

Willis DeBoer and Gertrude Hekman both graduated from Calvin in 1948. They were married in 1950 and Willis finished seminary in 1951. After serving in the ministry for several years, Willis went to the Netherlands with his family to earn a Ph.D. in Theology. He returned to Calvin as a faculty member in 1962 and taught in the Religion and Theology Department until 1988. Son Stephen Henry graduated from Calvin and daughter Kathleen Joy attended for two years as did daughter Patricia Ann. Calvin has been an important and significant part of their family providing education, professional opportunity and entertainment for over 60 years.
