Tekton, Inc.

Sponsored by a church in Muskegon, Michigan, Attallah Amash immigrated to the United States in 1956 with almost no money or education. He worked hard re-selling goods he bought from others and eventually built up Tekton, which has been family owned and operated in Grand Rapids for decades.
Today, Tekton is focused on making a single line of?strong, classic, and?lean?hand tools. They have high standards for their company and employees, who?push each other to continually improve and do what is most impressive.?Tekton?has seen positive industry response and fast-paced growth for several years by questioning convention, developing creative solutions, and staying true to its founding principles.
Tekton has hosted several Calvin College interns and currently employs many Calvin graduates. The Amash family is impressed with the capabilities and integrity of Calvin students and enjoys providing an opportunity for them to learn sound business practices from a Christian perspective.
The recipient will receive a scholarship towards tuition and a paid summer internship position with the company. Over the course of the internship, the recipient will be mentored by company leaders and will be given opportunities to take on important projects.
