Robert and Katherine Schuringa Andree

The Calvin College History Department establishes the Peter D. Hoekstra Scholarship in honor of one of its founding members. The scholarship is made possible by gifts received from Dr. Robert G. and Mrs. Kathryn (Schuringa) Andree who expressed a great deal of respect for the late Dr. Hoekstra’s competence in teaching and knowledge of subject matter and are thankful for the positive influence Dr. Hoekstra had on their lives. The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year student entering Calvin College with the intention of majoring in History who has demonstrated interest and accomplishments in history as manifested in her/his high school record and additional projects or independent study.
