Richard Vander Heide
Richard Vander Heide is a Calvin graduate who has spent his professional career in teaching and medical research. Richard is a cardiac pathologist who has taught and conducted basic research at Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, and the Marshfield Clinic Health System in Marshfield, Wisconsin for nearly 30 years. He specializes in the pathology of heart cell injury and atherosclerosis. The family’s appreciation for Calvin runs deep and they are eager to make that education available for others. This scholarship promotes the preparation of young men and women for a career in the practice of human medicine
