Rachael and Jay Morren

Rachael and Jay Morren ’12 establish this scholarship for Calvin education majors because “we were in your shoes” not too long ago. Recognizing that college is an expensive commitment, they are very happy to encourage students who are dedicated to attending Calvin and did not let the price deter them from their dreams. They are both so grateful for the education they received, and do not regret going to Calvin.
While Rachael and Jay loved Calvin, it came at a cost. Without donor-supported scholarships, Calvin may not have been a realistic opportunity for them. As students, they received named scholarships each year, and are still grateful that they had to take out a little less in loans. The Morrens hope and pray that this scholarship will bless current Calvin students, like past scholarships have blessed them!
