Pfizer Inc. is a global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pharmaceutical products. In 1999, two divisions of the company – Global Manufacturing and Global Research and Development – together made a $1 million commitment to Calvin College, a portion of was designated for scholarships for students interested in pursuing careers in the chemical sciences or chemical engineering.

The purpose of the Pfizer Scholarship is to attract, encourage, and support students interested in pursuing careers in the chemical sciences or chemical engineering by giving them financial support, academic recognition, and connection to a major chemical company. Eligible students must be entering either their junior or senior year of studies at Calvin College with a major in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering (Chemical Concentration).
