Peter and Joy DeBoer Family

The DeBoer family established this scholarship in memory of husband and father Peter P. DeBoer. Dr. DeBoer taught in the Education Department at Calvin College for 32 years. Peter, his wife Joy, and their four children all attended Calvin College. The family shares a strong belief in the value of Christian education and the unique value that teacher preparation at Calvin College brings to its graduates and those they go on to teach. This scholarship, honoring the legacy of Dr. DeBoer, will support Calvin College students as they pursue a Christ-centered degree in Education. Candidates who demonstrate a servant heart, are involved in their home church, and have a professed love for a career in teaching will be considered.
