Patti J. Morren Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Jay and Kathleen Morren of Grand Rapids in memory of their daughter, Patti, who was mentally impaired and passed away at the age of 29. Because of Patti’s need for special education and special assistance, Mr. and Mrs. Morren developed a great appreciation for the love and compassion shown by Patti’s special education teachers. In recognition of that, they are establishing this scholarship for students pursuing a special education program who have the special qualifications needed to work with children who have disabilities. Mr. and Mrs. Morren believe strongly in the value of a Christian education and in Christian Higher Education. They have been strong supporters of Christian education, including Calvin College, over the years and are grateful for the many blessings their family has received from their involvement in Christian education. Mr. Morren is a 1956 graduate of Calvin College, and two of the Morren’s children are alumni of Calvin as well.
