Norman and Crystal Unema

Norman and Crystal Unema of Hudsonville, Michigan have established this scholarship because of their concern that people in the media are ignorant of the Christian or Biblical perspective on life; that their understanding of a Calvinistic world-and-life view is lacking at best, and when addressed, is distorted beyond recognition. It is the Unema’s judgment that the combination of the media’s broad influence and misguided ignorance is a major cause of the decline in the moral structure of our country.

It is their conviction that we as Christian Calvinists have the responsibility to direct our influence into the broad area of media coverage and, as a result of this conviction, have established this scholarship to encourage and assist committed Christian students who plan to enter this field.
