Mr. Harv and Mrs. Gail Reinink

This scholarship has been established by Mr. Harv and Mrs. Gail Reinink of Grand Rapids, Michigan, in honor of Harv’s mother Catherine Reinink, and Professor Henry Bengelink. Catherine’s formal education ended in the fourth grade due to a tragic house fire that killed her mother.  Being the oldest child in her household, Catherine was called upon to stay home and help raise the family at the tender age of 10.  Henry Bengelink was a professor of biology for more than thirty years.  He is fondly remembered for his knowledge and creative teaching techniques that inspired students like Harv who went on to teach elementary school for over 35 years.
