Mary Cannon Dively

Ms. Mary Cannon Dively, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, has provided Calvin College with a gift to be used to establish a scholarship fund for needy students.

Ms. Dively taught in Grand Rapids area schools for 40 years and believes strongly in the value of education. She loved and thoroughly enjoyed her teaching experience, and it is because of this experience and her commitment to education that she has established this scholarship. Although she wishes to help worthy, needy students with college expenses in this way, she also believes that the student should assume some of the cost through part-time employment and/or deferred loans.
