Lighthouse Scholarship

This scholarship is established in gratitude to God for the role of Calvin College in the lives of three generations of the Vander Haak/Grit family. Beginning with William and Dolly Beth Vander Haak, who met at Calvin, the lives of numerous family members have been enriched as students and staff at Calvin. This scholarship is established by the family to assist students who show their devotion to the Lord through their acts of service to others around them. The name of the scholarship is taken from the scripture passage found in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
