Kenneth and Sonja Ryskamp

After spending more than thirty years in private practice, Calvin alumnus Kenneth L. Ryskamp was nominated by President Ronald Reagan to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Judge Ryskamp was subsequently confirmed by the Senate and received his commission on April 24, 1986. Judge Ryskamp has served honorably and faithfully in this capacity since that time.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of his investiture as a United States District Judge, Judge Ryskamp’s family, friends, and former and current staff have endowed this scholarship. It is Judge Ryskamp’s hope that the funds will be used to encourage Christians to become a beneficial presence in the practice of law.
