Jonathan and Jane Marcus

The Nathan J. Marcus Memorial Business Leadership Scholarship is established by his family to honor the life of Nathan Marcus, a 2017 Calvin graduate who passed away unexpectedly shortly after graduation. Nate loved life and was known for being kind, inquisitive, determined, encouraging, and compassionate. As a member of the Calvin Track and Field team, Nate competed as a Pole Vaulter. He enjoyed time spent with his friends in outdoor activities including boating, golf, snowboarding and camping. He was a natural leader with a heart for honoring God through helping others and was also the first to include others. This scholarship is intended to honor Nate’s character and to encourage business students with leadership potential to exemplify gratitude to God through a heart of compassion for those in need.
