John and Theresa Wierenga Family

The children of John and Theresa Boes Wierenga have established this scholarship to honor their parents because of their life long interest in learning in all areas of God’s creation. Although they never had the opportunity to go to college themselves, they attended the school of life and appreciated the knowledge shared with them by others through reading, auditing classes at Calvin and attending classes at church. This scholarship is established to encourage and enable promising students to uphold and share though teaching the Christian world and life view so personified by John and Theresa Boes Wierenga. It is the hope of the children that lessons learned at Calvin will help each student not only in a career but also through a lifetime of service to God.
