John and Kirstie Miersma

John Miersma (1907-1996) and Eibertje (Bertha) Van de Pol Miersma (1915-2008) were members of the Christian Reformed Church and supporters of Calvin College who relocated from the Midwest to southern California in the mid-1950’s. The Miersmas volunteered at Rehoboth, New Mexico, in various capacities from the 1960’s through the 1980’s and developed a love for the ministry, the people and the landscape of Rehoboth. This scholarship is established in their memory by their son John P. Miersma and his wife Kirstie of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, both Calvin alumni and parents of Calvin alumni. Through this scholarship the Miersmas wish to encourage graduates of Rehoboth Christian School to attend Calvin College.
