John and Judy Straayer

John and Judy Straayer established this scholarship in honor of their sister and brother-in-law, Calvin ‘63 and Ann Stapert ‘64. As a professor of music at Calvin University, Calvin made significant contributions to the department and published several books on the intersection of faith and music through the lens of composers such as Haydn, Handel and Bach. This scholarship recognizes Calvin and Ann’s lifetime love of music and will provide an opportunity for a music major to pursue their calling in the field of music.
