Johan and Wilma Westra

Dr. Johan G. Westra was the first full-time Political Science professor at Calvin College and taught for many years. He also served as the pre-law advisor for more than 20 years. Wilma Westra has served Calvin College as bookstore manager, executive secretary of the Alumni Association, Coordinator of Adult and Continuing Education, and as a volunteer Knollcrest Festival chairperson. The Westras have established a fund, the income from which will be used to award a scholarship to a student majoring in Political Science or who is in the Pre-law program. Special consideration will be given students active in volunteer work and interested in a career of public service.
