Joel and Janis Carpenter

This scholarship was established by Joel and Janis Carpenter to support Calvin College in its mission to provide excellent and affordable Christian higher education by strengthening its financial aid program and also to support the college’s efforts to attract talented and devoted students from the global south and east. The scholarship was also established to honor the memory of Donald P. Rhoads, Janis’ brother, who loved God, served the kingdom of Jesus Christ and loved learning.
