Huntington National Bank

Huntington National Bank

A simple advertisement printed in a Columbus, Ohio newspaper on January 3, 1866 announced the start of a long and distinguished story in American banking. Pelatiah Webster (P.W.) Huntington opened the doors to his new venture with a principled approach to banking and vision for his new home – Columbus. The Huntington National Bank he founded 134 years ago still bears his name, as well as his commitment to sound banking and a vital community.
Combining these traditions of excellence with cutting-edge innovation is a challenge The Huntington welcomes. New products, based on customer needs, are continually in development. On-line banking is fast becoming the medium of choice, and The Huntington has been in the forefront with its Web Bank. It provides secure state-of-the-art on-line banking that enables customers to do their banking from home, office or laptop via the Internet.
In the tradition of its founder, The Huntington also remains committed to the neighborhoods and communities they serve, including extensive sponsorship of programs and activities in support of education, the arts, and affordable housing and economic development.
Today The Huntington provides innovative products and services through more that 600 offices in Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and West Virginia. International banking services are made available through the headquarters office in Columbus and additional offices in the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong. The Huntington also offers products and services through its technologically advanced, 24-hour telephone bank, its Web Bank and a network of more then 1,300 ATMs. Publicly trading as NASDAQ: HBAN, its stock is included in the S&P 500 Index.
P.W. Huntington would be pleased to know his banking house, established 134 years ago, is among the 50 largest banking organizations in the nation. He would be proud of the fact that as much as the world and banking have changed, his company has adhered to his conservative business principles and his belief in enriching the community.
