Gladys Schuil

In 2009, Gladys Schuil established this business scholarship in memory of her husband, Garry Schuil. Garry possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, a belief in democracy, and he pursued his dreams, always within an ethical framework. New Jersey natives, Garry and Gladys attended Calvin College and married during their Calvin years. Following twenty years in the western suburbs of Chicago, they returned to Michigan, starting Schuil Coffee Company together in 1981. Schuil Coffee was the first gourmet coffee importer/roaster in the state and is still owned and operated by the Schuil family. The intent of this scholarship is to provide a means of assistance, encouragement and inspiration that will support a business student in the achievement of his or her goals.
