Gladys and Frank Van Til

Recognizing the unique financial challenges facing many sophomore students, Gladys Palmbos Van Til and Frank Van Til establish this scholarship to encourage sophomores who need additional financial support to continue their studies at Calvin past their first year.

As a first-generation college student, Gladys Van Til appreciates the significance of making this major step forward in pursuing higher education, both for the family and the student. It is the Van Tils’ hope that this scholarship will encourage first-generation students and help them to continue their education beyond their first year and on to completion. They also hope to encourage students from the Illiana area, since that is where they live and raised their family.
