Family of Del Nykamp

Del Nykamp was raised on a farm south of Zeeland, MI, attended Holland Christian High School, graduated from Calvin College, earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, and began teaching at Calvin College in 1968. He helped develop and expand the communication department at Calvin. After 13 years of teaching, he worked for 5 years with the Life Enrichment department at Pine Rest. From there he began his own consulting company. He delighted in leading church groups to resolve differences, helping organizations deal with conflict, and working in other areas where conflict opposed progress. Del passed away on March 11, 2023. His family establishes this scholarship in memory of Del to support students studying communication from a Christian perspective at Calvin University.
