Donald and Carole Mulder
This scholarship has been established by Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Carole Mulder of Palatine, Illinois out of gratitude for the foundation for Christian living which was developed in their entire family while at Calvin College, and out of concern for those with particular needs due to the loss of a parent or spouse. The Mulder’s are seeking to honor the memory of Mr. Douglas P. Grevengoed and follow the command given in Isaiah 1:17 which states, “Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” The scholarship is called the Naomi Scholarship in reference to the Biblical description of Naomi and her two daughters-in-law in the book of Ruth, all of whom were widows.
