Corrine E. Kass
This is a fund established in the name of Corrine E. Kass, who administered the graduate studies at Calvin from 1984-1992. During that time, a graduate philosophy document was passed by the faculty and a Master of Education program in Curriculum and Instruction was initiated. Other Master of Education degree programs are available in Learning Disabilities, Reading, and School Administration. The Education Department initiated this request and the Graduate Studies committee concurred.
This scholarship is established for the purpose of assisting experienced teachers to return to full- or part-time education in one of the Master of Education programs at Calvin College. To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must, in addition to fulfilling requirements for admission to the graduate programs, have an Undergraduate Grade Point Average of 3.3, must be committed to leadership responsibilities in the education profession, must demonstrate financial need based on criteria for financial aid, and must be enrolled for graduate credit in a minimum of one to two courses per semester.
