Amos and Kitty De Groot

Mr. Amos J. De Groot, President of Rockview Dairies, Inc., is a strong supporter of Christian education, currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Valley Christian High School and as a member of the National Steering committee for the Mosaic 2000 Campaign at Calvin College. As a member of the Mosaic 2000 National Steering Committee, Mr. De Groot has provided financial and personal leadership for this endowed scholarship fund, building its visibility and credibility among potential supporters and helping the college secure financial support for this project.

Mr. De Groot strongly supports the idea that Calvin College must be a Christian community that reflects and value cultural and racial diversity, recognizing the college’s responsibility to provide educational opportunities to minority young people. Mr. De Groot also believes that these opportunities need to be closely linked to those students who feel a special responsibility to return service and leadership to areas of need within minority communities. As the college invests its resources to help these minority young people achieve a college education, they have a special responsibility to use their skills to answer the needs of others in underserved minority communities.
